.
Have you tried the wreckers for the bits you need?
Does the sensor look anything like the Landcruiser water sensor?

Otherwise, your probably better off ditching the toyota equipment and fitting something from Delphi/Racor/Cav with a built in water sensor

Nah, I don't even try the Wreckers these days, too many bad experiences in the past.

I've never looked, and my BJ40 didn't have a Water separator at all.

Yeah, I probable am, but I've never had much luck at diesel part shopping locally.

I wonder if there is a standard plastic thread size with a diameter of 1.5"

The old one's thread is 1 1/8" which is too small.
The old one's float has a diameter of 2.5cm, which is too big.

After consulting with Al Gore, the Thread should be an M36x1.5 and the Parker Racor Cattledog makes mention that their products have an option to use a Water Sensor. But does Parker Racor produce a Water Sensor in M36x1.5

I think I've made some progress. I'm going to get an M36x1.5 Bolt then Drill and Tap it 1/2 UNF so I can use a Delphi Lucas Cav water sensor. - Is there an Internet source for one of these?

Hey, a used sensor from a local auto recycler will probably get you back on the road faster and cheaper. Isn't the 2L readily available in Vic???

Junk yards don't play well with the Jonathan.
