3B Diesel in to FJ60

I am getting ready to install a 82 a complete 3B diesel out of a BJ42 with transmission/tcase in to a 1985 FJ 60 that had a 2F motor.

By looking at the motor bracket on the frame of the FJ60, I could tell that they are not going to align so what is the best & fastest solution to install a 3B (complete with motor mount/bracket, etc) in to FJ60.

I know some BJ60 comes with 3 B so if anyone want to sell a pair of engine brackets ( the ones welded on the frame), send me an email

just measure and cut the existing ones to fit . i did the same thing on my40 that i put a 3b in. it worked out fine

I got some frame mounts out of Canada and used them. This is the best option, reusing the 2f mounts you have will be a PITA, if you could even get them to work at all. Post a wanted thread in the parts section. On of the mounts you need for the conversion in the FJ is really long compared to the other. My memory tells me the 2F mounts will not come close, I chopped mine off and scraped em. 3B frame mounts are kinda hard to come by, but I will check my sources for you.

Are you saying you cut off the 2F mount tabs and reloacated them to support the 3B motor? If so, please photo them and post them for us to see how it comes together! That is good news for a lot of us!

Do some research on here. There are several 3B conversions documented.

Here is a link to some FJ62 mounts I cut off and welded back on to fit a 3B. The stock gas mounts are not in the right place and the angle of the motor mount surface is different. If you can weld you can make these easily.

Your conversion would be easier if you use a 5 speed or a later 4 speed that has the spacer between the trans/transfer. With the short trans you have you will have modify your driveshafts or get some from an early 60. Im assuming your trans doesnt have the spacer - maybe it does...

i would post some pics guys but i have problems with them everytime. i cut and rewelded mine on my 40 fj to bj conversion. i did use the 3b engine as well.
