H150F vs H55F - comparison/compatibility?

Hi folks.
I'm looking at an HZJ80 with what sounds like a failing syncro on the second gear (less than 150,000 miles on it). Based on information I've gotten on the web, it seems those trucks were fitted with the H150F transmission in the early 90's. How does it compare (toughness, compatibility) with the H55F that is more common in these parts?

HZJ80 Information:
Manufacture Date; January 1990 to June 1998
Engine; 6-cylinder 4.2 litre naturally aspirated diesel engine the model designation is 1HZ.
Manual Gearbox; 5-speed manual the model designation is H150F.

Hi Robert, it isn't as strong as the H55F, but it is supposed to be stonrger than the R151 (I have the r151 in my HZJ79 - it needs a rebuild).

Is the truck in Ottawa now - can you bring it by?

The best thing about eh H150 is the ability to rebuild it - pretty easy, and you can probably get a rebuild kit cheap (400-500) plus labour of course.

An H55F will not fit into that truck - the cross member will come in contact with the suspension arms.
