12HT

Anyone put a 12HT in an 80 series. The 3FE is depressing from both the power and fuel efficiency standpoints. From what i understand there may be registration issues putting in a motor that is older than the vehicle.

Thats why no one has done it
For the cost of an engine, the appropriate 1HD T may work out cheaper and give more power, especially at highway speed.

I thought will be pretty nice to see .. much more with a H55F and BF1A split case with low gear set :hilbilly:

But as same as Rosco .. much more simple to fit a 1HD-T .. anycase I thougth the 12H-T it's pretty capable to move the 80 series .. how fast .. not sure.

Somewhere between a 3FE/1HZ and 1HD T. Probably better than nothing but not quite enough

Buddy here did it w/h55f. Nice but exact sentiments as above. 1HD-T is the way to go.
