I haven't installed the pyro.. I got cold feet because I think it might be to big.. the sensor is quite big..about 10cm long
How big are the sensors usually? If i can confirm it'll work i'll install it.
I think the EGT's are ok though. There is hardly any smoke.
I wont be doing any heavy towing
I made some chims for the wastegate, just move the whole thing backwards.

Wow, 10 cm would be way to long if that were just the prob which was below the threaded section. Got a picture with a ruler beside it to show us? This is what my thermocouple looks like and it has about 1.75" sticking past the threaded section.
IMO, smoke is not a good indication of your EGT's. My truck doesn't smoke at all, but on a long climb, I can easily reach 1200*F (still with no smoke), so just be careful

Ok..it's not that much bigger.. as you can see about 60mm past the nuts.. with those welded to the outside of a pipe i guess about 55mm will have to be inside the pipe.
My plan was to insert it in the "elbow", right after the flipped manifold, from behind and go horisontally forward..
Maybe i should just go ahead then.?
Yeah I'm being careful

i run 30mm inside my exhaust manifold im not sure how long it is though it came from ThermoGuard Instruments its got a digirtal readout and was heaps cheaper than i could get a gauge pyro setup you got to mahe sure it doesnt touch the manifold other than where its screwed in i was told
and just out of curiosity whats your top speed as for some reason mine only gets to 100kmh even with 9psi boost 3" exhaust and sits on about 2700rpm

I thought it depends on tires, gearing etc etc etc ..
I'm able to make Tencha to go faster .. but at the 3k rpm mark .. that it's way to much, or at least muchm ore than I like to go.

Something seems wrong there. What tire size and gearing you have wombat? Also, what engine is this on, what transmission?
I've got stock gears (3.7) and am on 32" tires. With correction to my speedo, running at 100km/hr, I'm at 9psi and sitting at 2100 RPM. If I put the peddle down, my boost goes immediately to 11psi and rises to 13psi at 2700 RPM where I can hit 125-130 km/hr. This is with a 3B, H55 transmission.
Looking at the thermoguard website, that kit is very expensive at $265 AUS. I paid $99 USD for my Pyro gauge ( summit racing) which came with the K-Type thermocouple. All I needed was some wires for the lighting and the power supply (about $8 max)

Mine does exactly 80km/h at 2000rpm (32") (on speedo and for real, speedo correct with 32")
Boost between 4 and 8 psi depending on the throttle-position.. It will do 120km/h at 3000rpm easily.. and it will go faster still... It feels like it would do 140 with no problem.. I will never try that! I never crusie at over 100.. rearly over 90.
If i hammer it at 80 it accellerates hard and firm i.e can pass others with no worries now. .

Martin, you must have higher gearing than me than, Maybe 4.11's which might be better on the hills in the long run, but not as good on the fuel economy on the flats. At least I think that's how it works.

I might be wrong here, but it looks to me that the center part of your turbo is upside down!? Where you feed in the oil looks like the oil-return hole?!

oh.. well, looks clean.. except it's flippin dirty! ..
I thought about having an air-cleaner like that. any issues? like noise?.. Also it looks like you have more room for exhaust and stuff with the master sylinder and steering-rod on the right (wrong ) side of the car..

T3/T4 turbos look like that. Quite different oil inlet fitting to the T25 core that you and I are running.
