Heads up on 3B internal voltage regulator
I was out driving the BJ60 today and noticed that the voltage was higher than it normally is. The shop manual repair is "replace voltage regulator" so I got out my spare regulator. As I was installing it I noticed that the white wire had a small amount of exposed copper right where it passes the blue wire terminal. I decided to see if I could simply re-wrap the wire with some electrical tape and fix the problem so I did. Voila!! Regulated voltage again! The spare regulator went back in the spares box.
Moral of the story, check wiring for shorts, bare wire just in case. __________________ '82 BJ60 H55 tranny, AXT turbo 3B diesel, high nickel alloy head, A/C, BDS lift, factory PTO, Aussie rear locker, OEM LSD front, 4:11's, 32's, PERFECT frame!
