Fj and Bj Fans

Got thinking about fans after reading a post yesterday .So I checked my fan on my 1981 BJ42 and it is plactic. I believe it has 6 blades. How many blades are on an FJ40 fan ??Are there 7 on Fj and 6 on Bj [3b] application??

I have a 13b bj40 aussie version with 7 blades on my fan. 13b is not the factory engine though. Dont know if this helps.

All very interesting.I do not need a fan, thank God. I was just wondering .I do in fact have a plastic 6 blade fan that I believe to be correct. Looks like a hard item to find Part number for and to find new or used ones??

If you ever need one ,Australia or other countries with Dyna/Daihatsu trucks or Coaster buses will have plenty.
Those models ran the B engines in the 80s and 90s .
Assuming the fans are the same between Lcruiser and trucks of course.

Hi Joe

CCOT had them available (for my cruiser) last time I placed an order with them (couple of years ago now) - But then I decided against ordering one at that time to keep the packaging "size and fragility" down (because I had issues with the freight cost in getting their stuff over to NZ).

The blades weren't expensive either.

Then again - Mine is a 2977cc engine which could mean a different blade to yours. (But as I told you by email - mine is indeed 6-bladed plastic).
