Dang,
I've never even heard of this little fella. Please don't tell me that the crowd control riot police style gate welded to the front of it is OEM. Seriously, where did that come from? Maybe its the angle of some of these pics but the bumper/grill/brushguard looks like it came off an F-150. It looks soo big for such a little guy. Great find. BTW when were these made?

They were popular in oz with fisherman and farmers liked them for inspecting fences and bores. Terrible to drive on the freeway on a windy day

They are produced by Daihatsu which is partly owned by Toyota. They've built all the small diesel engines for Toyota for decades. It's a re-badged "Deluxe" version of the Daihatsu Taft model. I have pics of th old owner wheeling it. He said it's unstoppable. Great tourque and weighs almost nothing. Fun stuff! Hey John,
Sweet Deal! I have heard of the Blizzards/Ruggers but that sure doesn't look like the kind I recall offered to the Japanese market. What is the similarities and differences between the name relations? What type of axles are underneath it? Sweet fined, thanks for posting. Hey! I forgot we talked about this truck. Not sure on the axles. I'm due to take some more shots of it so I'll post some this weekend. Basically it's a re-badged daihatsu with all the bells and whistles. The original clock even works which I was shocked by!

That does look like fun, I used to have a Samurai and really enjoyed it. If I didn't already have enough projects I would look into one of those.

wow there's lots of those things where I am... wondered about them having Toyota parts because they said Daihatsu on the side. Did I see a thread somewhere that said some had a 3b?
Cool toy! |

Having some fun with the Blizzard
Just ordered paint for it. the paint code is 886 Seaside Blue. Never heard of that code and had a bitch of a time finding the name of it. Going to grind out the inside for paint then sand the outside for a quick re-spray. I went to a vehicle graphics place here in town today to get the graphics re-created. Should be a little pricey but maybe I can sell a few copies of the graphics to people in AU or Japan. Either way I think they're cheesy lookin and I must keep them on the truck. The original ones are covered in overspray from the last hack paint job. Truck runs AWESOME!! Very smooth. Runs like new. The rear diff is welded which will be undone soon. Painted the bezel white and looks much better. Gonna paint the roof Cygnus white and make it a mini-FJ. Odd fact- the trim tag on the truck says FJ22. Is this an FJ22? The VIN starts with LD10. Confusing. Another odd fact- the owners manual states that the truck is to never exceed 90 km/hr (56 mph) Who would buy something brand new that can basically never work on highway trips? Also, it was originally a 2-seater. Searching for parts. Anyone know where I can get oil filters for an "L" engine? More fun to come. __________________ 1983 VJ47 Crew Cab "The Great Pumpkin" 1992 M-101 Finally I can get what I've always wanted....a used Toyota. |

It doesnt exactly look like a highway vehicle and its still 4mph than many Mogs ![]() These have a reputation for bumping themselves off the road at speed. It was probably lic as a 2 seater which was much cheaper in years gone by as a bonus for farmers and business The 73/74 series were also lic as pickups and still says so on my rego papers __________________ HZJ75 cab chassis 95 model ,stocker FJ73+1HZ Diesel NEW GEARBOX 1HZ =same power as 3F with 30% better fuel economy 2in Dobinsons lift.Powerdown adj shocks 33 in BFG A/T HJ61 with slidin windas regrettfully SOLD:(Volvo 740 GL |

That does make sense since there were some holes on the rear floor where it looks like an old seat may have been mounted. It was an australian tag that said 2 seater.
The 90km/hr part was printed in the owners manual which was an Australian version. The engine does start to wind out approaching that speed anyway. Thanks for the info......if you see any parts down there let me know! Gonna start ginding out the inside today. Already ordered paint. Ripped out the headliner remnants yesterday __________________ 1983 VJ47 Crew Cab "The Great Pumpkin" 1992 M-101 Finally I can get what I've always wanted....a used Toyota. |

I never noticed the LHD before ,I always assumed it was JDM because I think I found it on a Japanese site.
Look like its at a European car show. They got a good selection of these little beasties over there because of the small size and excellent fuel economy This was a bargain on ebay ![]() Some years back there was a kit to turn a 75 series into a half track. It come out in a blaze of publicity and faded away __________________ HZJ75 cab chassis 95 model ,stocker FJ73+1HZ Diesel NEW GEARBOX 1HZ =same power as 3F with 30% better fuel economy 2in Dobinsons lift.Powerdown adj shocks 33 in BFG A/T HJ61 with slidin windas regrettfully SOLD:(Volvo 740 GL |

haha the half track is kind of silly on one of those. Not much point in having 4 wheel drive and must kind of throw the fuel efficiency out the window...

If your getting 100% traction ,its probably a fuel saver. They built that so they could feed birds in a sanctuary in a delicate area
