Did you test the compression? If so post the numbers. There are several other causes of white smoke including; an air leak in the fuel system, bad timing, bad glow plugs (if the smoke goes away when warm), bad injectors, probably other things.

You have not told us any history of the engine or current miles or even what engine it is and where you are.

does it (the smoke) smell sweet? I don't know about diesel's, but in a gasser this can be indicative of anti-freeze getting into the combustion chamber.

Probably your diaphragm needs replacing, is this a recent change with your motor?

How's your engine idle speed?

White smoke and bad compression in one or more cylinders is indicative of a cracked head or a failed head gasket. Do a pressure test of your cooling system to confirm. Which engine do you have?

Smell will help you diagnosis a lot. Like they say, if it smell like crap then you got crap. So, if it smells like burnt motor oil, then you're burning oil (rings, valve stem seals) If it smells sweet, then you are burning coolant (cracked head, gasket). If it smells like unburnt diesel then you have bad combustion (bad glow plugs, air in fuel, too little fuel) or overfueling and bad injectors (black smoke). So next time you start it up, get your friend to stand behind the exhaust and take a good smell of your exhaust. Once you have figured out the smell you can start looking more closely for the possible cause. There is no sense in doing a lot of tests until you narrow down the possible causes.

As well, it would help the guys on the forum if you were a bit more detailed in your explanation on your first post.

That would be the sweet steam cloud of coolant cleaning your piston head.

Okay, nice; lots of help.

1.) Smoke goes away completely after it is warm; usually, some guy that had a bunch of cruisers saw me drive past his house and said that it was smoking white pretty badly.

2.) About 300-250 grand on the motor.

3.) Will Smell, havnt noticed it smelling like anything other than diesel.

4.) High Idle

5.) Knocking at high Revs

6.) Injection might be a little too far advanced.
