HJ60 EDIC replacement
My electrical guy did a quick fix on the EDIC relay, so now I can turn my truck off w/o lifting the hood. However, it's only temporary, so I need to replace the relay. I've got an inquiry into Roodogs about a new one. But here are my questions:
A. Any trick to replacing this thing? It looks pretty dang simple, but then again, I can complicate most situations pretty quickly. ![]() B. Can I pick up a used one that will be any good? It's for a 12 volt, HJ60, Aussie spec, with a 2H. It looks like a common problem, so if I get a used one, will it probably blow in a couple months? C. Any warnings about what I can expect to pay? I've heard "expensive" but that's all relative... Thanks, |

Tri-cities. No green here! I don't think I want to go manual. I know a lot of people do it, but I want to try to keep it OG status. |

post an ad in the classifieds in MUD. The diesel classifieds.
A 12 volt BJ60 edic relay may also work. They are held on with a couple screws and have a plastic connector. Very easy to change. __________________ -84 BJ60, Finally on the FN road! -91 FJ80, wife's ride Iron Butt award winner of the Cruise Moab 08 ! |

The relay is simple to replace, just plugs in. Couple bolts hold it position and has a plug on it.
There are I believe two versions or should I say the same relay but with different plugs on the end. Post a picture so we know which one. They are $10-$40 from a 4x4 wrecker and very comon here. Send Roodogs a photo so he know which one. I buy a lot of stuff from him. Toyota still sell the part as well here. __________________ Rebuild 1974 FJ40 2F into a 1984 HJ43 2H Diesel. http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/173333-rebuild-my-fj40-1974-rhd-down-under.html |
