1hdft five speed question
Will the five speed and transfercase out of a hdj81 fit between the frame rails of a FJ45?
From past expierence, the h55 with splitcase and vacume shift will no fit, needs to be full mechanical to fit between the rails. Your talking about a part time case then? I think the H15* is shorter than the H55 but not sure about wider.
I think Tapage would be the man with the definitive answer- he has the manual box in his new 80. I suppose there is a local BC boy running around with the H15* that could take a measurement. G&S had one sitting in their shop as well. I remember from Tapage's post of his new truck that there was no vacuum shift for 4H- it was on the stick. __________________ -Peter Mac- 1990 HDJ81 1997 40th 1967 Norton Atlas 1986 Yamaha RZ350 1996 Ducati 900SS SP Ya...it's like crack to me... www.bestinshowexhibits.com |

Thanks Peter, will wait for someone to chime in with some measurements.
Local has a cool build in mind, aqualu extended cab by six inches, rear box short six inches of course behind the cab and I think another 8 inches off the back of the box, 80 series axles lockers and arms. __________________ Come and visit us in Duncan, BC www.raddcruisers.ca --> 60 Series Cable Lockers available - 4.11s or 3.70s - handles and cables included --> 12HT & H55F combos available - complete & running --> in stock and ready to go. |

I was looking at these pics I have of a H151 behind a 1HD FTE in a 05 troopy.
The closeness of the output flanges to the gearbox casing make the t/case look compact compared to my memory of a H55f and t/case. __________________ HZJ75 cab chassis 95 model ,stocker FJ73+1HZ Diesel NEW GEARBOX 1HZ =same power as 3F with 30% better fuel economy 2in Dobinsons lift.Powerdown adj shocks 33 in BFG A/T HJ61 with slidin windas regrettfully SOLD:(Volvo 740 GL |
