different starting issue that most I have read

I solved most of my starting issues by going with a bio-blend since winter set in and replacing my glow plugs. Much better, still getting tons of blackish smoke on initial start up. Going in to get injectors serviced in the coming weeks.

HOWEVER,

after I have driven the truck - 85fbj60(3btransplat) for a while, park it and come back out. It seems to crank really sluggish, slower than after sitting all night.

Two new batteries and new ground cables are what I have done so far. Thinking next to try and order the parts to rebuild the starter(I have a spare) from a Canadian NAPA.

Thoughts?

Tim

If it were the batteries, then I would think she would be worse at start-up than after she has run for a bit. Weak batteries will loose powe over night and then be charged a bit after a run - even if they are not in condition to accept a full charge. I would first check all your connections and make sure they are clean and free of oxidation before investing money on rebuilding your starter. Even then, I would pull the starter and bench test it firstb.

Not real familiar with these starters, but on others I have dealt with the solenoid will usually go bad first before the main starter assembly—if you are able try replacing the solenoid. You may also want to think about replacing your positive battery cables as well—often if there is a bad area in a cable after it heats up it will make the connection worse reducing the flow of the electricity.

i suggest check the grounds then the cables and then the two copper fingers in the starter (sometimes they become pitted and corroded and wont alow the juce to flow freely) after that relay then the starter (unless theres a short in the starter I would go with the cheapest soloutins first)
