Power steering filter & cooler
Just got the hydroboost mounted in my 94 FZJ80 diesel conversion. I was able to use my Toyota master cylinder (I think, isn't running yet) It was relatively easy after redrilling some holes. The hydroboost runs off of the power steering pump and I am wondering if a power steering filter and oil cooler are needed. The reason I am wondering is the fact that I currently have a trans cooler, engine cooler and am I now going to need a power steering cooler as well? Could I use the cooler lines that go into the radiator? I am not planning on using those since I am using a separate cooler for the trans. (Why does Toyota use the radiator cooler and the optional external cooler) I am afraid I am not going to have enough room for 3 coolers.

damn 3 cooler are tight .. but you not necesary need to run a " cooler " for PS .. I recomend that but maybe not necesary in front of your vehicle ..
Could run in the engine room or some place close to the frame .. just ideas. |

Hey,
Try mounting the PS cooler behind the front bumper, if real estate behind the grill is close. When I was at a wrecking yard I saw PS coolers mounted in all kinds of crazy places. Behind the front crossmember, on the fenderwell be creative, its just low pressure hose. Hola eric |
