'76 FJ40 We're putting in a 1kzt 4 cylinder turbo diesel w/ 5 speed trans.

Well that's one way to get the tub off I suppose, certainetly makes life alot easier when you got a workshop like that. Most people take the motor out of the vehicle, not the vehicle out of the motor!


Got to remember that one, look forward to the completed transplant.

Well, our ultimate goal was not to remove the engine/trans as we are adapting a non-standard powertrain to this vehicle's frame. We wanted to leave the powertrain intact to measure etc. The total time to remove the body was about 30 minutes so it was quite fast to get to this stage. -Todd
