12H-T install; Tachometer ????
Getting down towards finish installing G&S Cruisers imported 12H-T into a rust free 1986 FJ60 - this engine and 5 spd manual really bring the FJ60 to life!
Question: How do we hook up the tach? Sheldon sent along the 12H-T tach but we are now at a loss as to how to hook it up. System has neen converted to 12V. Thanks folks, Scott, Northern Nevada |

I'm really sure in the 12H-T imported .. but in my 2H you have a knock sensor in the bellhousing.

The other end is only slightly more complicated. Take the tach wire from your old ignition and connect it to the tach sender on the side of the bellhousing. Connect the other wire from the sender to ground. DONE! BTW - Greg and Sheldon are a great resource. They don't mind providing a little tech support for the parts they sell. __________________ Six Sigma Black Belt in Douchebaggery Turbo Yak - 1987 F(H)J-60 12H-T, H55F, 32 x 11.5 BFG, home-built stuff, Aussie stuff, JDM stuff. If you hock up your new tacho and it still does not work you need to check your sensor on the bellhousing. Sometimes one of the wires breaks off at the sensor due age and heat, or the fact that the wires have not been secured properly and the constant jarring breaks the wire. They do become brittle with age as they are over 20 years old.
