3B Glow Plugs

Hi all,
Does anyone know where to get glow plugs for a 1981 3B engine in the US. I belive they are the 10.5 volt NGK Y-147T .
Others on the forum claim that Napa sells them, but they told me they had no listing of that number. Also NGK website lists them as,
OBSOLETED WITH NO REPLACEMENT
would apprecialte any opinions or help you all could offer. thanks.

Go to Roodogs4wd ebay store in Australia, sends worldwide, I buy a lot of stuff from him.

Or just do a seach in ebay for 3B Glow plugs. Roodogs4wd has 9 available (suit 24v 3B) at $10.80 each AUD.

Go to a diesel shop with them. They can probably get them as they are not Toyota specific.

You're using the old part number! Call up Napa and ask for NGK 7493. I bought them at Napa a few months ago and they had them in stock at my local store.

Hello,
I was having the same problem, call any NAPA store in canada, until you find one who will mail them to the USA. I found a NAPA in British Columbia, who looked up the number and said the warehouse has 17. I asked will you ship to the USA? The counter person said sure why not? I ordered 6(had 2 already) for a set plus a spare set. I think I paid $8-9.00 each plus shipping. I had spent the previous calling and talking to NGK USA, Canada and just about anyone else I could think of! Calling NAPA in Canada was really too easy! Do it and take a rest, I will be using this method for all my other diesel needs!
Hola

Just bought some from the Napa here in Whistler, BC. The price for the glow plugs was $29 each. The thread is much longer from the originals.

That is a huge difference in price!!

I ordered mine from AU and it was $80ish for all for with shipping...

I will be trying the NAPA stores in Canada from now on...I need some parts for a spare starter I am going to rebuild. They are sold by NAPA Canada, I just wasn't sure how easy it would be to get NAPA to ship to me.

Tim

I just bought a few sets from an Ebay seller. $40 per set. Shipping was cheap too. The seller had hundreds of them. I did the Buy It Now on Friday night and had the glow plugs on Monday.

If you are calling Canada, you can try the Fort St. John Napa, cause I just bought some, and they had to order in a whole box, I bought 4 and I am the only BJ42 in town using 24V glow plugs, so I know for a fact, they have a bunch of them in the store. Their number is: (250) 785-8305 course shipping might be cheaper to call a town on the border closer to the US, but if all else fails, try them.
Cheers,
Deny

The Napa store in Duncan, BC - on Vancouver Island - has been getting a lesson in Land Cruisers for quite some time now. They stock many more Land Cruiser parts than other Napa stores because I make them do it for my clients. They stock brake parts, voltage regulators, filters, bearings, and all kinds of odds and ends that I need. They can supply starters, and alternators as well (but they are costly).

The NGK glow plugs are actually less expensive at other suppliers, but the Napa distribution centre does carry them.

If you need help, talk to Doug (store manager), Katrina, or Greg. If they can't figure it out, they'll call me and I'll edjamacate them a little more on Cruisers....
