Are you asking about using the turbocharger off of a 4BD1T (or whatever) on a 3B, or what? More specific questions are more useful.

The NPR name as a truck series has been used for about 22 years now.
Some of the turbos from the NPR59 (4 ton truck from 85-92 which used the 4BD1T) would be suitable but there are three. IHI-RHB6. Wastegated T25 Freefloating T25 with a T3 mounting flange. The first two would work very well, but the third would be a little large and will start to boost later in the rev range. The third may also need an external wastegate to prevent overstressing your engine (to limit boost). __________________ VOODOO Engineering: Doing it first time with one clay doll, not four times with two. |

I think it'll be about perfect.
My engine is larger, but lower revving so total air consumption is the same. The turboglide kit that Eblanc is using has a T25 turbo. __________________ VOODOO Engineering: Doing it first time with one clay doll, not four times with two. |

The GT28's would be great for the 1HD, but the GT28 series covers a huge size range now. The old T2860 is now called a GT2560. It'd be good for those wanting a 1HD with lots of low end torque. __________________ VOODOO Engineering: Doing it first time with one clay doll, not four times with two. |

Dougal in your concept .. which could be the best toption to make a 1HD-T engine fly .. This engine it's stock .. rebuild recently with the besto parts available ... so it's in great shape right now .. and it's boosted 14 PSI with the factory CT-26 waiting for a custom intercooler .. and after a new turbo .. Justo to get the boost up to 18 - 20 PSI Hijack over ! |

The compressor discharge temps (with a few calcs) show when the compressor is running out of it's best efficiency zone, the exhaust manifold pressure tells you when you've reached the flow limits of your turbine. Is the wastegate on the CT26 held shut at 14psi? It sounds quite low, but since hard info on those turbos is impossible to find it could be right. __________________ VOODOO Engineering: Doing it first time with one clay doll, not four times with two. |
