12H fuel adjustment

So I upped the fuel on the 12H the other day, at least that´s what I think I did (man that sounds wrong)

There was a cap covering a screw, the cap had a seal on it, I cut the seal, took the cap off, loosened the nut on the screw and turned it 2 circles CCW then put everything back together.

didn´t see any increase in EGTs or any black smoke but I could swear I have more power now.

so my question is this: was it the fuel screw I was fiddling with?

...or did I something horribly wrong?

I believe what you adjusted was indeed the screw that controls the fuel delivery over the full RPM band. You should try to adjust the boost compensator so that you´ll get more fuel only when there is boost. To get to that adjuster you´ll either need to take the injection pump off the engine or take the intake manifold of, since that adjustment is on or better yet, in the top of the pump. I´ll try to get a diagram later to day. Or you could try to find an online FSM.

HTH,

Mark

you´re turning out to be quite the godsend, thanks

and a diagram would be great.

so should I turn the fuel back to normal and just add fuel via the compensator?

If your EGT´s are not flying thru the roof i would let the adjustment you´ve made alone and do the rest of the "tuning" with the compensator.

Do you have acces to a fax machine? I can copy that page from my FSM and fax it to you.
PM me a number if possible.

Later,
Mark

i think there got 2 type of increament power.

1. i think what u said remove the cap and turn the screw few circle, and in front of it using a small allen key to adjust it, AM I RITE? i turn it to loss, then use the allen key to adjust almost to fit, little bit loss, then screw back with the 10mm nut.
the boost i set last time is about 1.7bar on stock and standard without intercooler, the power was crazy, the the standard auto4 gearbox can support. unless rolling start, this what i did .

(question: how to upgrade the fuel pump?? change the pump heart? i think got 6 , original i think is 9mm? change to 9.5mm? will it better?)

2. there got one screw, open using a screw driver, the cap is about 2inch diameter, u need to hack it to open it, it located near the diesal handpump, which is under the fuelpump. After u open the Cap, there some black oil leaking out, but its ok, u can see a thing like hammer, which is 2 side, located 180degree each, if u cant see it, u need to turn the ENGINE, how to say turn the engine, either u use ur hand to pull the fan cable to turn the engine crank, or u use to starting the engine, dun start the engine on, just click a bit a bit a bit so the engine will move, then ask ur friend to observe it, then there will got a hammer look a like, which u can use the sharp plyer turn it 1 circle got a CLICK sound , then in horizontal, still got one same thing, then u need to click start the engine again,, there got another same thing come again, then u circle using the sharp plyer to the circle u turned just now. finally u close the cap back, hack it a bit stiff.

BTW dont prepare to go away, ur engine RPM is HIGHER, and u need to adjust it, and also the aircond that rpm, the selenoid part rpm step u also need to adjust, if not when u open aircond ur car will flying forward hahahaha.

my english not so good, home dont mind
