Glow plug controller

Hello,

I blow up the glow plug controller. I saw that it's just a twisted wire. I want to know if someone can tell me the resistance of this wire to build a homemade one. If someone is enough experimented with this part, I want to know what this little piece change in the way of controlling the glow plug.

thanks a lots

tis the season for glowies...... go manual. Switch to control a relay. Timers are junk.

If you need a relay go to napa. GPR 109

The glow plug controller IS essentially a manual system - it is a very crude form of a 'timer' in which a coil of wire glows cherry red, visible through a little mesh screen on the front of the dash. It is not like the glow plug timer system that succeeded it in late '82 in terms of form or complexity. The 'controller' term is a little grand considering the simplicity of the part.

I obtained a new Toyota glow 'controller' from Roodogs spares in Oz for about $40.
