In my continuing quest for diesel knowledge, I'm curious to know how a water/methanol injection system compares to a traditional intercooler setup for lowering EGT's and/or improving horsepower and mpg's?

Any insight on how a water/meth injection system might work on a non-intercooled Toyota diesel, like a 12HT for example, in lieu of a intercooler setup?

If you look at what manufacturers are doing, there are MANY vehicles which are intercooled from the factory. I can't think of any which are cooled using methanol / water. That in and of itself has to tell you something.
