1992 HDJ81 fuel not pumping

Hello,

I am having troubles with my HDJ81. Long story short I disconnected the fuel line at the filter and no diesel was in the line and none came out when i cranked the engine. Is there a fuse for the fuel pump? Or a relay that I could check?

Is the pump inside the tank on these models? If so how can I access the tank? I found a small access hatch under the carpet in the cargo area but all I found was a good view of my spare tire mounted underneath!

Thanks in advance. (Also yes I there is diesel in the tank, I added 20 liters just to be sure)

use the primer pump on top of the fuel filter - just keep pressing the little black button. That should pull the fuel up the the filter. sounds like you maybe ran it out of fuel. If you dont get fuel to the filter then there is air getting in the line somewhere. if you get fuel to the filter, which i suspect you will, then just crank and it should start.

Thanks Ishobie,

Priming the pump worked great and it fired right up.
