Which engines will fit?

Greetings!

I have a 1983 BJ45, with the 3B engine in it. The engine needs overhaul, in the worst way. So...the question is, what engines will fit in the truck without all sorts of contortions? My thought is to put in another (newer or at least newly overhauled) engine, so that I have time to overhaul the current engine.
The car is a daily driver, and I can't really afford to have it down for several weeks while I do the overhaul. And in Nairobi, parts for an engine that old may be very difficult (if not impossible) to find so I may end up just having to change engines anyway.
So, anyone have any ideas what will work?

Thanks!
JM

Only a B type engine will fit in there without gearbox and engine mount modifications.
It might be more practical to hire a vehicle or buy a banger while yours is off the road.
Another way, maybe get another dead 3B ,have it rebuilt and swap them over when ready.
