Starting 2H into FJ60 swap, any tips?

I've got the 2F ready to pull and the 12V wiring harness out. Hope to get the 24V harness in tomorrow and the dash back together.I've got the 87 HJ donor that I'm driving right now and another that has a dead engine so should have everything I need. It's going in an 85 FJ. I'm going to use the inner fenders from the HJ. I'll have to cut off the FJ motor mounts and weld in the HJs. I think I'll need to use the HJ power steering too because the mounting is different. The clutch has a booster so that is a bit different too. Not sure whether the tranny x-member is the same for the 4sp and 5sp.I'll have to check that out tomorow.
I'd appreciate a heads up on anything I need to pay attention to from anyone who has done this swap.
Thanks, Pete

It would be better in the long run to stay 12volt but I guess your stuck with a 24v 2H.

The clutch booster was an option and is not needed.Use your old clutch MC and come back to the booster when all the other work is done.

If your using a 5sp just use the crossmember that it came with.

Thanks I'll leave the booster for later.I've also got AC to deal with but not sure right now whether I'll hook it up or not. It would need a 24v amplifier. Wonder why you say 12 volt would be better?

Well your 60 is already 12v and the engine only needs a 12v starter alt and glow system.(I understand the 12v components dont grow on trees in North America.)
We have a whole forum for diesel and 24v headaches but no forum for 12V.
What does that tell you?

With 24v you have to run 2 batteries and if one loses its charge your still up shitcreek and you have to replace both batteries.

It does have some merits for cold starts I hear

Yea ,it would have been nice to just swap out a few things and not mess with the wiring harness but I have no idea where to find 12v parts here . I have all the 24v parts already and lots of spares. The biggest drawback I've found with 24v parts is the ridiculous cost.
Thanks, Pete
