engine won't turn off

Hi, Can anyone offer anything on this one. Just got my truck back from the shop and when I turn the ignition to off it keeps runnning. The key has been able to come out while running for years, but now I am in need of a fix. it's an 87 hj60 24v. Thanks

Your edic motor isn't working.... It's that litte gizmo with the arm. When you turn the switch off it kills the motor. It doubles as the low pressure kill mechanism too.

This is what the 3B motor looks like...

It's raining so I can't take a photo of my 2H motor.

FYI, I'm not saying the motor is bad either. Just that it's not working. You could have a short somewhere...

My HJ had that problem. Turned out it was the contacts in the ignition switch. If I wiggled the key a bit it shut off. Might be it.

Thanks. That helps alot. It's a little embarrassing having to stall to quit the motor :(

My BJ42 does the same every once in a while. Usually in public places with a lot of people watching or when I have passengers.....

I just open the hood and do the EDIC's job for it by manually throwing the lever.

The relay used to stick on my old BJ40. A good thump on the dash used to fix it!

Check your vacuum system. When I swapped my motor I had a vacuum line hooked up backwards and this happened. Its possible your mechanic knocked off one of those little hoses or put it back wrong.
