Real time 1HZ alternator help

I just got a new alternator for my HZJ80 (12v). The auto elec that sold me the alternator told me which terminals were which but he wasn't clear on whether the pin configuration was looking at the alternator or the plug end. According to his hand drawn diagram the pins were located like this I_I with the left hand one being the light, the centre one being battery sense, and the right one being ignition. But because I'm not sure if the diagram is of the alternator or the connector plug, I'm not sure which wire is the light wire and which wire is the ignition. The centre wire should be the same either way. The colour codes on the factory loom are Black in the centre location, a large white wire on one side and a smaller black with blue trace on the other side. Does anybody know which colour wire does what job? Or how to test which wire does what?

I've hooked up the wires the way the auto elec suggested but it doesn't look right. According to him the larger white wire should be the light and the smaller black/blue wire should be the ign. I don't reckon this is right, I reckon the smaller wire should be the light.

I just don't want to fry anything by hooking it up wrong.

Nevermind guys. I figured out why it wasn't doing what I wanted it to do. I'd blown a dash lights/ignition fuse as well.

I'm always talking to myself

I've got the thing getting charge back into the battery but the dash lights aren't working properly so maybe I still don't have it hooked up correctly. I'd still like to find out the correct wiring codes for it and also how to test it properly. But the panic for real time help is over as I have the vehicle home again now and have a day free to fix it properly now.

Thanks for the reply Mot
