LJ-78 Fan Clutch

Hello Wayne

Hope you had a good Xmas out in the flat land.

Can you give me a quick overview of how you lock up the fan on the 2L-TE. Does this require going to a different fan and hub?
Climbing up Mt Washington I find my water temp rising to an uncomfortable level.

Running in 2nd instead of D seems to keep the EGT down nicely but the water is still getin up there. The rad has been 3 cored but have not changed the exhaust yet.

Thanks

Happy New Year everybody!!! Cruise On

changing the exhaust will allow the gasses to expell quicker.
i sell a hub and fixed adapter for this engine... not sure of the price though...

Are you sure the clutch fan is working as per FSM specs? Test it and see.

Here is an interesting read on the clutch fan in the 80 series: http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/102633-blue-fan-clutch-mod.html

Thanks Greg/Wayne

Very interesting read.

Will be looking closer at my clutch op.

Just in case Wayne, figure out how much for that setup and let me know.

All the best for 07!
