Auto box problem

Hi
I have a problem with my 94 Vx 80 series import, when you pull away to say 15mph and let your foot off to freewheel all is ok, when you reaply the gas it revs to about 1600 revs before taking up drive, it doesn't bang or snatch, it's done it since purchasing it 13000 miles ago, it hasn't got any worse, iv'e changed the fluid twice, it's at the correct level, otherwise it drives great changes are silky smooth, any idea's? btw it's the A442F box.

I would say you have a problem with your TPS ( throttle position senser). It lives on the top of the injection pump and tells the auto at what revs to change. hope this helps. Rich

Ok so which way do i adjust the tps, i have marked the position of the tps so it can go back to the same place if it all goes pear shaped & i know it's very sensitive.

Check the kickdown cable adjustment as well. There is a FAQ in the 80 section I believe.

Update
I have not touched the TPS yet but have tried driving using the shift lever to move down to 2 just before turning into a junction or any situation where speeds of around 10-20 mph occur if that's how you spell it, & hey presto instant drive & no reving before taking up drive, so does anyone think it may be a valve in the chest in the bottom of the box ?

Checked kickdown cable today & adjusted up, there's nearly 10mm gap between the orange rubber gaiter & the crimp on the cable but the slip has gone, it drives great now thanks to you guys.
