California DMV Emissions Info
I have been looking into a diesel conversion for my 90 FJ62. So I went to the California DMV online and found some information which may be useful for California residents who may want to convert to Diesel. What did sound promising was that diesels are not required to get a smog check. But if I read the information on the webpage correctly that your original emission equipment must still be functional? Sounds confusing, so I think I will stop by my local office to get this information from them in person.
Here are some links I found; http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm#BM2539 http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/StdPage....s-Jan_1994.htm http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/StdPage....s-Jan_1994.htm ozwick |

Do a search of this forum for more info. You can even use my name "ChuckB". I used to live in San Diego and this subject has been discussed numerous times. HTH.
