1hz dry start

I'm trying to test run a 1hz and can't get it to fire over.
Glow plugs run manually for 30secs, new fuel, fuel cut engaged, and starter over for 30 sec at a time.....nothing.
I know the fuel lines were completely dry, but what am I missing?
I know the 13BT has a primer pump, but the 1hz does not.
Would too much air in the lines keep it from firing at all?
How would I go about bleeding that out on this one?
No...I don't have a manual, but I have a good understanding of the electrical as is.

crank it over longer, you can crack the injectors to get out the air but i suspect you are just not cranking long enough...

No...I don't have a manual, but I have a good understanding of the electrical as is.

Take the glow plugs out ,remove at least 3 injector lines( 6 is better) from the injectors.
Spin engine on the starter until fuel comes through.(it will spin oh so fast )
Replace the injector lines and glow plugs
The 1 HZ should have a pump on the fuel filter(like some 3B) and use that to pump the fuel to the fuel pump 1st

There is no fuel filter on this.....other than the one I put on the end of the fuel line and put that in the fuel can. I think I might try hooking up a temporary electric fuel pump just to force feed the fuel up. Though cracking the lines to the injectors and actually witnessing the fuel at that point, is a good idea. Diesels are kind of odd in that you can't smell the fuel like you can on a carb'd engine to know if it's there or not.

I think it mandatory. God knows how long it will take to squeeze all the air through the injectors
Taking the glow plugs out is what really helps as the engine will turn over like its idling .
The way I explained it is from the FSM with some poetic lic but it got my rebuilt 1HZ started within 20 seconds once all the lines and plugs were reattached.

Instead oF connecing an electric fuel pump you could could fill the fuel hose via a funnel and keep the fuel can higher than the fuel pump.
I got another 1HZ running this way in the back of a 6x4 trailer

Worked like a champ.
Glow plugs out, injector pipes open, electric fuel pump for just a few seconds.
Buttoned it back up and it fired the first time, no throttle, no glow....perfect.
Sweet motor...gotta love the sound of these things.
