I have a 1989 lj70 2lt and it runs fine but won't rev past approx 3 thousand rpm.I was wondering if there is a governor or something .Or where should I look for a problem?

Yes, there is governor; but you should check other things first... like a blocked fuel filter or air filter, especially if it was fine just a while back and this is new problem.

agree, sounds like a restriction or bad tank of fuel...seems to be very common here in Calgary this year. the fuel is gelling at an alarming rate...

I know the air filter is ok ,I will definitely replace the fuel filter and see if it helps ,I was told the truck was a farm vehicule from Belgium.Maybe they detuned it.We don't have a gelling problem in Ottawa YET it's 14c today!
