someone posted about a variable vane turbo?
i can't find the thread sorry...
anyway, i went and chatted with the turbo shop about this turbo and they said the turbo has smoother operation since it doesn't have the shutter valve BUT there is a bad side effect with this type of turbo, the carbon build up will leave the turbo either seixed open or shut, open and you have no power, close and you have too much boost. the only way to fix this is to remove the turbo about every 6 months and clean it out... K I S S principal, it is a good idea but too many moving parts for their liking... cheers __________________ pulling this info out of my ass so take it with a pound of salt contact me at wayne@crushersrule.com Wayne Owen Sound Ontario http://www.ivoac.ca separating the rumours from the truth. join today www.CAVI.ca Dealers join the CAVI to protect your rights |
