Exaust & Inline Pump Regulation For my BJ 70
Hi! I am Italian and this is the first time I write in this forum. I was looking for some help on the AXTTURBO that I just installed on my '85 BJ70 24v with in line pump. In particular I wanted to ask how I should modify my exhaust pipe because the one that came with the kit is much larger in diameter than the one on my BJ70. And how much should I regulate my in line pump? I'd be thankful if anyone could help!
Ciao from Italy!!! |

You could replace your exhaust with 2.5 inch pipe all the way back. Increasing the exhaust will also have a nice effect on lowering the exhaust gas temperature.
Welcome to the board. Tip, the font is nice in the default setting. No need to change it. __________________ -84 BJ60, Finally on the FN road! -91 FJ80, wife's ride Iron Butt award winner of the Cruise Moab 08 ! |

As for "regulate" I think you mean adjust. You adjust your fuel settings only after you have a Pyrometer gauge on to read the exhaust gas temperature.
With more air you can add more fuel. But only so much then the temps become too high. But you do need the gauge. If you don't have the gauge leave the fuel setting where it is. No adjustment. Chances are you will still feel power increase. As most diesels don't use all the fuel in combustion anyhow, so with the extra boost you will burn that fuel. __________________ -84 BJ60, Finally on the FN road! -91 FJ80, wife's ride Iron Butt award winner of the Cruise Moab 08 ! |
