Do the glow relays and timers come with that?
Does the vacuum canister (brake booster) come with that? Does the throttle pedal, hand throttle, & cable come with that? I've thought these parts were necessary for the complete switcharoo. |

Need it yes, being able to afford to ship it into the states or have someone pick it up - a different story.
Alas this is the paradox between the North and South. North - good partially used diesels, South - rust free frames and bodies. I wish I had the dough to start a business to bring these two great combos together. __________________ "I am my OWN worst enemy." 2007 FJ Cruiser - 35's, 2.5" Daystar lift, AZ pinstriping 1972 FJ55 Rescued Piggy (sale pending) 1978 FJ55 Family offroad project 1983 BJ60 Diesel Project Copper State Cruisers #74 |

I think the problem is that you said you would not ship it. I mean, how many people near 100 Mile House BC (I *THINK * you live around there) need this that they could not get in Vancouver/Calgary.
As you know, Canadians got the diesels, Americans didn't. Not many folks can drive to Canada and pick up an engine, mainly due to cost and work schedule. I think if you would be willing to ship it, you would have more interest. __________________ Treasurer of Austin Lone Star Land Cruisers TLCA # 15006 Looking for a Cruiser..... Umm Guys, I suspect none of you have puchased from Gord before, you do not want him package it up and ship it - unless you are willing to pay through the nads. From my experience with him it won't be as described, you would definately want to see it in person and hear it run, compression check etc.
I bought a fuel tank from Gord, the tank was supposed to be in "excellent" condition. Well, it was anything but excellent, tank had deep rust pits he outside that the vent holes, some were going to have to be plugged an welded - that I could have lived with until we opened the tank up -full of rust, a complete write off. So, I pay 125 for the tank, bunch more on packaging(can't remember how much - but can find it), a ton on shipping, and end up with a tank that is now in in the dump. He did end up sending me a battery tray - with no mounting hardware as a token of something. So - All in all I ened up with a $200.00 or more used battery tray. Buyer beware, not all cruiser guys are your buddy, he's a you bought it so don't complain about it now kinda guy. Buy from G an S or anyone else on here and you will do alot better just my opinion. I fully understand your frustrations. But, when you are in the business of selling goods, regardless of what they are, you have to expect people to waste your time. That is just a plain fact of selling. Even individuals who sell a car once every few years will get 'wannabes' inquiring about it. Honestly, if you can't handle this aspect of it, perhaps you should consider not doing so anymore. Not trying to be jerk or rude, but that is a fact of business. I have never seen Greg or Sheldon speak like this, even though I am quite certain they have oodles of stories to tell. I am afraid your comments may have hurt more than helped you in this regards. Gord, I saw your post before you deleted it, I thought I should clear a couple of things up as anyone who subscibed to the thread will have seen it as well.
I have an email string from you stating that the tank was in "VG" condition. You lied about the condition of the tank, it was not in VG condition with visible deep flaking rust around the vent tubes - no one could have missed that. You wrote: "Louis: There is a greyhound station in 100 mile house...shipping wil be collect to you...it will be, i think one, big box..the tank is in VG condition tdilad@gmail.com is how to reach me of your interested Best Regards Gord" Ask anyone on this board who I purchase from - I never complain, except in this case where what you did was pretty underhanded. Call me what ever you want, but I think people will see that you are in fact the flake - and the moron. But - you have my money so I guess maybe I am the moron eh. I think I will remind everyone from now on when you try to sell something how much of a scumbag you are. Here are some pics of the tank for those interested. You can see that it wasn't sandblasted too hard, just what had to be taken off was removed. __________________ Louis Join the True North Toyota Land Cruiser Club in Ottawa http://toyotalandcruiser.blogspot.com/ Join the IVOAC here to keep JDM's coming - www.ivoac.ca Dealers join the CAVI to protect your rights - and keep the JDM's coming- www.CAVI.ca |

buying used goods? either you trust the individual not to screw you over OR to come good.
buying a used engine? i will say this, G&S are closing doors as far as i know due to a lack of people wanting to pay for GOOD USED parts. their prices were high for a reason, you were getting a quality product. sad really. if an engine is being sold AS IS then get it checked out by a neutral party. i will say this again... NEVER INVEST MONEY YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO LOOSE... and i will also back Mark Watley, Louis, myself and many others that have been aroudn cruisers for a long time... there are SOME CROOKED cruiser owners around, trust your gut, seldom does it let you down... Gord, as you know i would not ship used parts either and the cheap people that would email is unreal. i share your frustration... so i do not sell much in the way of used parts any longer... word of caution to those that sell questionable parts... be ready to refund or expect the crusiser world to find out. be upfront and as honest as possible, keep any and all email corespondence, you might need to call on it... __________________ pulling this info out of my ass so take it with a pound of salt "People are poor because they don't spend money wisely, tough sh!t !!! I never purchased anything from this guy.
He wanted a $$ for the part + a CORE CHARGE+ LABOR for removal I almost fell over when he wanted x money for his time and a core for the part he was sending out. Quote:
GORDS EMAIL TO ME "Removal and packaging parts up ready to be shipped at your expense 5 hrs @ $39.50 per hr.....$198.00 Refundable core charge ($250.00) will be returned upon, receipt of parts by myself, off your engine marked with (xx) in good usable condition via courier (prepaid) at your expense. to summarize Total parts...........................$700.00 Packaging...........................$198.00 Core charge.....$250.00 MY RESPONSE: Gord, At this time, I will pass on the 3b parts. Because of supply and demand, the prices you ask are justifiable. I don't have aversions to paying market value for the parts, BUT the additional charges: packing removal core charge double shipping are too much for me. Thanks, Deo HIS REPLY: "I can tell you one thing, i am just like you , when i work i like to get paid also. I am sure if your boss told you he wanted you to work for nothing you might have an issue with that also... I also believe if the packing and removal of parts is all that is keeping you from buying these parts you really did not want them anyways Gord TLC Restorations" I LEFT IT AT THAT- NO RESPONSE Now looks like a great time to send Gord that final response...... Gord, You are a real fuck tard. Wow, another story about Gord giving it to someone on this board - we'll definately have to remind everyone who looks at Gord's stuff from now on.
