I vote for "Cache La Cruisers'. If your from this area you probably know the history of the
"cache la poudre" river, and if your not, it doesn't matter. __________________ Those who give up liberty for the sake of security deserve neither liberty nor security. --B. Franklin |

The river's name means "Hiding Place of Powder." According to legend, French fur trappers in the 1820's were caught by a tremendous snowstorm. To lighten their load, they buried large amounts of gunpowder (poudre) in a hiding place (cache) along the banks of the river.
This river corridor has been an important travel route since prehistoric times. Evidence of Native American occupation in the canyon includes tipi rings, rock shelters, fire hearths, and a burial site with artifacts. In the late 1800's, gold mining and cutting trees for railroad ties brought the first permanent settlement to this canyon. Although a railroad following the river was never completed, many of the original grades became the foundation for Highway 14. Early mining efforts had little success, leaving behind ghost towns like Manhattan to tell the story. This has been a Public service Announcement brought to you by Me... I grew up in walden, drove that canyon ALL the time and now live in greeley where it ends... Cache le Cruisers works for me too. |

Where does the river begin and end? I think it is only in Colorado... which sounds great if this were only a Colorado club... but we are making an attempt to gather people from the general area which also includes Southeastern Wyoming...... So the name doesnt really bond the folks from the general area due to it covering two states.... Its like when we came up with the name for the cruiser club in north western washington... we had some folks from southwestern BC, CA interested.... as well as folks from as far as Seattle and further.... we came up with the name rain country because the whole weatern reign was rainy. We should try and come up with something that all can associate with.. never know if people from the corners of Neb. or Kan. might want to become members.
just me own two clams worth. __________________ 1989 FJ62 Factory Clean... 2FE 1994 FZJ80 Stock 1977 FJ55LV... Now owned by Rescue Wagon 1974 FJ55LV... Seems like we have converted you.
Why not back to"Cache La Cruisers?" But, time for me to muck it all up and throw in a twist , how about "Cash La Cruisers" . Those from the area can associate it's meaning as a play on words, for those not from the area it represents the financial aspect of Toyota ownership, as some folks have tens of thousands into some rigs. OK, let me know what you think. It should be one or the other, but in retrospect to minipigg's statement of multi state attraction, maybe the "Cash" is the way to go?

I am partial to Cache La Cruisers, but I could go for Poudre Canyon if it comes down to a vote. The Canyon is beautiful, and home to some mighty nice trails for us to play in... __________________ TJS -- 1978 FJ-40 1974 FJ-55 w/ 3FE CO/WY - Horsetooth 4 Wheelers Cruiser Club <<CLICK HERE>> for my Tech Threads |

Ya the first one was just to weird sounding... I know Eric is partial to that one as well being he has so many cruisers stashed away. I have to say "WOW" those are some nice rigs. Never seen that many 45lvs in one place. Poudre Canyon would make a nice playground and it sounds like something those outside the area would be more able to relate to. Plus I think it just sounds cooler. Dave |

Short, says it all, easy to spell.
Here's a brainstorm idea for a logo. Excuse the 5 minute Paint/Publisher attempt, just playing around in case someone with real skills is looking for suggestions. I know it's ugly as hell, but a Cruiser over the outline of the 2 States was stuck in my head.
