Rising Sun Rally - August 8
On behalf or Rising Sun, I'd like to invite our friends from the north to join us at the Rising Sun Rally on August 8. We've enjoyed your participation over the last few years and are looking forward to seeing you again this year.
For those that can work it into the schedule, we have a couple of runs scheduled for the day after the Rally. Jeff Zepp will be leading a run up Bill Moore and Dan Reinmuth is leading a run on Chinamans Gulch. Just click on the links for more details.
It's just a couple of weeks out and we hope to see you all there!!!

Thanks!
I really wanted to join you folks, but now I have family obligations, group camping up at Red Feather Lakes that weekend. Somehow the 's ideas take precence, since I spent almost every weekend this summer running trails....
I certainly hope someone from our club shows up.

Rick and I are planning on making a FJ45 run out of it. Still working on the details last minute, but hoping to have a cooler, some parts to sale and a grill to cook some world famous Beaver brats. I don't know how long I'll stay though as it is my weekend with the girls and I don't know how long they'll humor my attendance.

I am going to go F'ing nuts if I don't get the Pig running soon! I spent over a year fighting 3FE bugs and then two weeks later break the clutch fork! It has been down for a month and a half.

Any regrets on the 3FE? I've thought about going that route, but I already have too much investing in this engine.
Girls are 12 and 9. I only hope to keep them entertained long enough to make it through it.

No regrets, I really enjoy going out and hitting the starter and having that 3FE fire right up.
It was time consuming, but much of that had to do with the condition of the fuel tank and lines on my Pig, so I cannot blame that on the 3FE.
What year is your 2F? If you have flat-tops you could make a 2FE!

78 2F. I'd love to make it a 2FE.
So, are we going to see you Saturday morning? You like brats? I'm planning on bringing some amazing Beaver Brats. So good, they remind me of when I was growing up in Germany. uummmmmm. Only thing missing will be a cold beer.

Yes sir, I am packing up the little guy.
I LOVE brats. THe kid is pretty fickle on food. Some days he eats, other days, not so much
I'll probably have to leave around 1 for nap time. And I am trying to drag my little sister over as well.
'78's have domed pistons unless I am mistaken. Same boat as me with my 40. I had fantasies of 2FE'ing the 40, but like you, I have $ in this engine...

What time are you thinking about heading out? I'm going to meet at Rick's house (across from Eldora) at 8 or 8:30, with a launch time of around 9. If you want to call me, my cell is (970) 412-4462.

My girls are pretty picky too, but they love these brats. Very strange for kids. And boy, they can tell if they're not Beaver Brats.

Thanks man - I could see a caravan happening.
So you have enough brats to bring a few extra? Thanks!

Stopping by tonight to pick a bunch up. Some plain and spicy. I'm leaving work and won't be able to check on here. Call me if you have any questions or directions to Rick's house (though I think it won't be hard to find the one with the Troopy out front).
