Bald Mountain Communication tower info

After visiting the trail this weekend and seeing what they want to do, it seems silly that the Bald Mountain trail from 162 is chosen for the transportation and electrical line burial. If they absolutely need to use Middle Bald Mountain for the tower due to its location, why not use the existing FR300? It is already smooth and sandy and it should be easy to get the cable buried. so little of 517 would be smoothed down for the rest of the work. My 2c. Does anyone agree?

It seems like a no-brainer to me. In fact it is so absurd that the FS would improve 517 all the way from 162 that I wonder if we are misunderstanding the proposal. Maybe they are only planning to improve 517 from 300 to Middle Bald. If not, they need to have their heads examined.
