Welding you gears? Anyone here done it?

Welp, I have my 85 60 and I want to lock my gears by welding them but I am trying to see if anyone here has any experience on this on their own rig...
Whats the drivability and how well does it hold up?

We welded our gears in the War Pig, works well if you never drive it on the road! My advice, just get a aussie locker, cheap and works good on and off road!

I have Aussie lockers in the front and rear of my FJ60. They work great!

Order them from their web site.

I have welded spiders in my '88 truck, I would not recommend this to you for a trail rig that you drive on the street. It's pretty darn annoying hearing your rear tires sliding all the time and it sounds rough on the axle. I only did this because I have a spare third member to burn and my truck only gets used to haul firewood nowadays

I welded mine like this, Works Great!

Welded Dif, What the hell!!! - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

The above is a JOKE, Weld the Spider Gears, not the Ring Gear.. I had my Spiders welded in my cruiser for a few years, Worked fine, Burnt alot of Pricey Rubber off my Tires, but Now The Aussie is working great!
