Can we have a (not wet) T-shirt contest?

Suggestion (this may not be a new idea at all):

1) Create a poll on the best artistic TLC photo (from that thread) for each model/series. http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.p...light=artistic
2) Poll results will yield a winner for each series.
3) With the poster's permission, convert the photo (if necessary) to something easily silk-screened or laser printed (I am not familiar with the newer photo application technologies on clothing).
4) Take orders with a Mud member T-shit vendor.
5) The owners of the rigs/photos selected will get a free T-shirt.

Good idea?
The only issue I see is making sure we choose photos that are appealing but are also appropriate for that application. A beautiful shot may not come out well on a T-shirt.

Just noticed this thread as I don't often venture in here. Glad to see ACPT is getting some outside exposure . I'd love to see some of them on a shirt but don't know how easy it would be to make them printable. Great idea IMO.

How about a calender or something else? I think this is a good idea, but a t-shirt wouldn't be able to show the true artistic nature of the pictures.

So, everybody that wants to participate sends their best quality pictures to a central location...email address, ftp site, whatever, along with a waiver for intended use. This would release the pictures for use in an artistic cruisers / wild wheeling pics book / calendar. Proceeds go to land use or charity or somewhere besides somebodies pocket. Every contributor is listed at the back of the book / calendar, if they want to be.

My brother-in-law is in publishing and could help with details, if not the actual project.

Uh, read #3 of my original post.

As for deleting threads, I am not starting any more chat threads, so there won't be any to delete. If I delete a tech thread, it will be (for example) because someone pointed out that a sufficient thread already exists on it, but I missed in in search, or is otherwise redundant.

I took some really cool picture of other peoples rigs during the FJ45 Run. Did not have permission, ect.

A few of them went to Toyota Trails and may be in the Jan edition. They were not posted here or any place else.

Technically my picture, but it was not of my rig. ect.

Most would be honored but, I would not want to see somone get upset that a photo of thier rig was used without thier permission.

That is all.

Maybe an ethical issue, but not a legal one. The likeness of your vehicle can be used for commercial purposes without your permission (unless there is a photo of the owner in it).

insanity is born - a tee shirt CAN show the full picture...although in this example, i have cut the back ground to resemble letters, it still has the color and feel of the entire picture. if you have the right resources/technique, you don't have to rely on one color images or several spot colors. CMYK is possible.

That last pic was Kling-on pointing to the next set of rocks saying", I think I can get into my other quarter panel on those!" Nice pic's #3 or the one where you are on your lid.
