Keep at it - I have a whole new level of respect for anyone that quits. I need to quit dipping too. Always seems like there's an excuse for not quitting but I gotta give it up.

I did have a laugh at the ad at the bottom of page 1 --- I can imagine bashing it on the pavement during a nicotine fit.

Beat the Addiction with Linkman.

The Linkman effectively alleviates the irritable effects of nicotine withdrawal while you're quitting smoking. This battery-powered device is shaped like a small cigarette, and is worn as a pendant or carried on a keychain. When you want a cigarette, you double-click the button to ask permission. It gradually reduces your smoking habit over a few months, making it very easy to finally quit smoking.

Next weekend will be the big test for me... heading home to hang out with my deginerate friends from high school. It will be a 72 hour booze fest... and they are all smokers/dippers/etc... I just can't let myself get too beligerant.

yeah, I was drinking when I lit up, alcohol will do that. I'm surprised I was repulsed by it though, that's a good thing. Just remember you've come too far to start up again.

yep, I plan to be down around where you drill at this time next Friday. Sitting on a deck drinking a tall boy watching the bayou drift by. I'm looking forward to the long weekend in Gulfport.

Sunflower seeds are the way....I quit for three years...I used to live in Denmark and got hooked on the real deal...Swedish snuff. Its wet like Cope but super fine- grained. I got home from Denmark and it wasn't available here so I quit...Until... I found it online one night after a few beers (and Years). Holy crap, I'm using it again. I won't give you the URL for the Real Deal. Stay the course and remain tobacco free. I gonna quit after this semester..I'm not looking forward to quitting it again, but its in the cards for December.

I quite Cope 10 years ago. I still have dreams where I am dipping...usually I am trying to find a place to rinse out and I can't.

I wake up with a horrible taste in my mouth, glad that it was just a dream.

No, I never wake up to find my toe in my mouth

Hang in there, sounds like you are through the worst of it. Keep thinking about the locker you will buy with the money you save.

Just to update you guys on this. I managed to stay clean for about 4 months... and then had some traumatic stuff happen in my personal life (my fiance's little brother killed himself) that led to smoking to calm my nerves and, of course, led back to the Copenhagen.

I've finally gathered the testicular fortitude to do it again. I'm on day 4 of being tobacco free. Today is worse than yesterday, for some reason. I'm done with it. So I will embrace the suck for the next several days and then eventually be free of this addiction.

I've done both. Sometimes at the same time. I have to say that smoking is more addictive, but I liked myself better when I dipped. Dipping is more conducive to daily life. I feel like I need to hide away when I smoke. I hate smelling like cig smoke.

Smokers smell like a bag of shit. I didn't truly realize that until I quit.

I disagree. A can of Copenhagen a day is the equivalent of smoking 4 packs a day.... just read that yesterday.

I've always enjoyed a smoke every now and then.... but I think about my next dip the whole time I was smoking..

It's only equivalent nicotine wise. Nicotine doesn't kill you. I think we all can agree that smoking 4 packs of cigs is much worse for you than a can of dip.

What I meant was, smoking is more addictive for me. It may be different for other people.

I broke my New Year's resolution and continued The Bear. Actually had a scare last week. My lower jaw hurt a bunch and I have a buddy about to die from testicular cancer. It's been 3 days and I'm absolutely done with it.

I have really been thinking about quitting again the last couple of months.

Maybe in the fall. Wait, that is hunting season.

Ok. Next Winter I promise to quit.

Damn, Richie Rich. Still dipping Kodiak?

Your lower jaw hurt from the "E" you took at the rave club the night before. You just gotta work through the pain.

Did you keep your resolution? Be honest.

i agree, i use to smoke pipes. cigars, cigs and chew tobacco and snuff.

cope is by far the hardest to quit. myself i use to dip skoal. i would get only four dips out of every can when i quit. at least 2 cans a day.

been off the stuff for about 11 years, hang in there.
