Almost immediately after declaring my semi-immunity from The Shaman's awesome powers, my window crank broke (AutoZone), my right turn signal quit working, and my rear window motor gear failed...

I'm skeered....

And while Dan was gone, LX_TREME was working on his real seal and sees in this photo that his Headgasket is going south. Could it be the non OEM Pesky Heater Hose (Blue) replacement?

"Shaman? Voodoo? Curse?
BAH! I said...there ain't no such thing as voodoo. CDan ain't no freakin' shaman."

That was my response to the question, "Hey Doug, you've been on IH8MUD for a while...what's this talk about CDan being a shaman?" "What's this voodoo everyone's talking about?"

We had pulled off the road in Death Valley to air up for a stretch of highway. The question was asked. I gave my somewhat flippant response...the next thing I know...my rig goes from purring contentedly on the side of the road to being dead...in the blink of an eye.

Uhhhhh...let me try THIS fuse...nope...how about this OTHER fuse? Nope...

Ask me now if I believe? YES.
CDan is not to be trifled with.

All hail CDan!!!

Boy does that bring back memories of that road. The shaman did allow you and your daughter to get home safely and that's most important.

Regarding shamanism - Yep - I bow to the east in the very direction of American Toyota regularly and I do it with meaning.

These people were camping near Dan were he was fishing a few weeks ago. They were up all night drinking, etc. They woke the next morning to find their rigs in this condition. Still wondering how the vegetation grew so fast and how the engine ended up out of the cab

The next morning was a good fishing day for Dan

Dan ran across these people several times on his vacation, The first time was at a gas station and Dan walked up to say hi and he noticed a fuel odor from the front. Dan said, "Smells like a fuel line problem and you need part number SJ5IL-OM463-155L-035". The guy just rolled his eyes and brushed him off. They later ran into them at a restaraunt and Dan noticed the fumes were getting worse, "He said, look I really know what I am talking about and you need to replace that fuel line, its Toyota part #SJ5IL-OM463-155L-035." The guy looked at Dan and said, " I have been working on Fords for 20 years and thats normal break in smell, why don't you mind your own business."

The next day the FJ caught on fire and after the fire was out, the totyota fuel line part number SJ5IL-OM463-155L-035 appeared on the side of the truck.

Course if Dan gets to the Rodents first he doesn't utilize such brute force tactics. he uses his Shaman charm to capture and train them:

"normal break in smell" - sounds like something a Ford guy would say. Hilarious!

This person called Dan and said he needed a CDL switch. Dan told him part number 80007656443, List price $55, your price, $44.

The man was beligerant and said, "Jesus Christ, I can make my own for less than that and hung up on the shaman." Later that week that man was proud that he had been able to make his own and proudly showed his wife how it worked.

She was not very happy with him as she called a cab 30 minutes later

This just in from Southern Utah.

A Man cut in front of another man at the boat ramp at Lake Powell. The first person said he was in a hurry and couldn't help it. He stated he saw the other man flip him off and walk behind his green Land Cruiser pull out some chicken bones and start chanting.
The first man then went to park his boat trailer and the tire blew out. He could hear chuckling from the man wearing a red shirt that said Land Cruiser, because everything else just sucks."

For the record I said 80's are for sissies and old men, not "girle men." And I'm still trying to get found.

This just in from Lake Powell.

(Associated Press) - Tragedy struck several boaters today at Lake Powell. Fortunately no one was hurt. Butch Sputz, one of the group of 5 Texans who had rented the houseboat described what had happened. " We wuz up all night drinking and haven a gooood ol tim last night. Dis bald guy in a red T-shirt came over in his red canoe and asked us to quiet it down. We told him to %%%$#-off as we were on vacation. The old guy said he had kids wuz trying to sleep. Slim over der threw a beer bottle at him and he went away chanting. Don'tcha know 5 minutes later the houseboat just flipped over. Funniest thing I saw, there was some weird chanting in da background."
The Texans have returned to Bonham, Texas no worse the wear for their adventure. We asked the neighbor if he saw or heard anything and he said, " You know that was the funniest thing. Reminds me when the front strut on a Toyota goes out, thats part number 688835FFg-09. I must say after the drinking stopped over there, I slept like a baby and didn't hear anything.
The sheriffs office is investigating the accident.
