| Lawn Service Logo / Name Help I am thinking of starting a lawn service business (aka me mowing grass for extra cash) and need some name / logo help. All the equppiment I have is Deere, so I thought it be cool to just go w/ that color scheme.
I am not to creative, and just came up with "McClellan Lawn Service" type shat.
If anyone is a professional and I use your work, I'll gladly put "designed by" or whatever on the flyers, etc.
I have seen some nice work in the past, so get to it

| All I can tell you is that if you are going to advertise in the pages etc to always use a name that starts with an A or B...... It is proven they get called more often than "Zacks Lawn Service" would. Good luck.
BTW: If the pages are no issue, "McClellan Lawn Service" sounds good to me.

| "Landcruiser Lawn Service" with the subquote "What you pay me today, goes into the truck tommorrow."
I believe that is called truth in advertising.

| Do you use your Cruiser for this work? I bet I could do something with it...ie make a lawnmower Cruiser for your logo with some font work around it.
Lemme know.

| Don't be afraid to use your name. I ran a lawn service for about 7 years, 5 of those with no name. Works great when you are small.
I then used a regional descriptive once I got big enough (read ads everywhere) and people like the sales tax commission took notice. I found it beneficial when bidding for larger jobs than the 40 old people in my bedroom community small town.
Just don't do cheese. Just this past weekend I was passing thru a small town and saw a dirty little truck with a little old man pulling some crappy equipment. He was the "Lawn Ranger"....don't be that guy.
post up your area, that should give us some ideas. There is a lot of truth to the "A" or even "AAA", but I never was a fan.

| The area I plan to start in is about 30 miles west of Richmond VA, in Goochland county. It is a rural county, with new suburban type sub divisions popping up. I think I have a decent shot of getting the new business the new houses offer.
I have a full time job, so I'm looking for only 3-5 lawns to start out with. Other lawn care services are quoting around $50 per mow for 1ish acre of mowing, so I see some serious (to me) extra cash, for riding around on a lawn mower.
The cruiser needs a hitch before it gets used...but that can be a business expense In the mean time, i could use my dads truck until I get a hitch on the cruiser.

| Well, gooch anything probably wouldn't be a wise move....
What about the region? In SC, the state is cut up into sections...lowcountry, sand hills, piedmont, etc....
What is the general area referred to as?

| But then again, if you are looking to mow 3-5 yards, don't sweat it. Use your name.
Knock doors....ask for a chance, you'll get the business. All you have to do is show up and do a good job and communicate timely with people.

| I know many in this industry, AAA in the title is good, but just as well can be some bunk name "New Method Lawn Care" or such, do the same as everyone else, but make it sound like you know something the rest of the guys don't.
Okay, you do know something they don't, pulling a trailer with a cruiser means less downtime than pulling it with a chevy

| My dad was very successful x's2 self employed in the advertising biz for over 30 yrs., he told me that his most successful clients incorporated "discount" or "economy" in their name, I used discount when I started my antique business 20 yrs.ago......people want the inference of the best deal.

| Matt, I have nothing to contribute, but I will tell you that I have a friend that recently moved back home to Goochland county. Right near Short Pump. I don't miss an opportunity to make fun of her. |
