Nice. You never step in the same river twice. Now where's my Orvis Fly Rod?

I have GOT to take some time and get back up into the mountains this summer. I've been spending way too much time in cities and suburban neighborhoods and I'm going through nature withdrawl.

Very nice.

But was anybody else just a little worried that some crazy face zombie was going to appear on the screen and scream at you while you were waiting for the last pic to load?

Nature withdrawl is all bad news.
You need to cure it with camping. Tall evergreens ,river trails, mountians with a view...

What river in the northwest is that? Looks like it would be fun to throw a fly around in.

I didnt cast a line there today.
I would have liked to.
The salmon run hasnt hit yet this year. That is the time to pull 40+ pounders all day long.
Good times.

In this pic, you can see how shallow the water is.
this makes it possible to walk 20-25 yards out till head deep.

It makes for a perfect spot for day campin,
swimming, fishing, theres a rope swing out yander, to the left.

Also its only class 3 rapids at best, so you could do lotsa floatn.

Nice man ..

There came a point many years ago that I became too lazy to unload my kayak and all the gear. At which point I decided to load up my 120litre dry bag, and throw on a shortie and float the river with the bag behind me on a 20' tether. The experience is remarkable .. portages were a breeze, as the drybag has back pack straps .. float down a few miles, and then make camp .. fire, tent, read a good novel.

Nothing like being one with the river when a loon rushes up to give you shite for straying too close to her nest...gets as close to being 'in' nature as I ever got.

TY

That looks shallow enough to take the kids to.... Maybe one of these weekends you'll have to show me where that spot is......

That sounds really cool! I'm sure the first thing out of the dry bag was the fire starter.
