Honk if you're Venezuelan

I noticed that there's a lot of us (Venezuelans) here. Can we get a head count on how many Venezuelan mudders?

Viva Chavez! Not!

Eres un Venezolano, pero vives en Chile? Tengo una amiga de Barquisimetro.

Can anyone of you guys familiar with venezuela tell me about the cost of living? Is there any plus's versus minus's there? Looking for a place to retire to that I can hopefully live cheap. Shoot me a pm or email at telrod@adelphia.net

Yo tambien soy Venezolano.

Dirtysouth,

The politics would drive you crazy. Venezuelan is a Kafkan country, please don't get me wrong, I love it there, but I would not recommend anybody go live there at the moment. Plus the general cost of living is high.

Regards

Alvaro

Aqui!
Venezuelan by birth, but American in heart and soul. Moved here in '94, brought my Land Cruiser in '96. Lived in MD, FL, AZ, VA and TX....slowly becoming a Texan, like my son. I love this state, but I left my soul in the desert of AZ....

I miss the feel of the morning Llanos sun on the back of my neck as I make the first cast of the day for peacock bass, I miss the cool breeze that hits you when you get of the Land Cruiser in Galipan, I miss that feeling of magic when you first see Auyantepui, and the taste of "queso de mano" and freshly-baked "golfiados". I miss seeing my grandmother every weekend and I miss some of my friends.

You can keep the rest....God Bless America!

98LXand99LC: Yes, I am born and raised Venezuelan, but now call Chile home (Chile is an amazing country, not cheap but the perfect mixture between latin america and a 1st world country). I also lived in the USA (VA, DC and FL) from 96 to 2003, and loved it too.

Dirtysouth: I would definitely go visit Vzla if I were you, but I couldn't agree with Alvaro more, I love my country but I do not recommend anyone to go live there now. Sad but true.

Henry: You made me go back in time. I could kill for some queso de mano right now.

Alvaro, it was nice to see your Anza Borrego Trail Report on 4WD Toyota Owner, great writing!

I first noticed it was you guys because my eyes jumped straight to the Polar logo on Roberto's LX450. I really enjoyed reading the report. You guys know how to enjoy a good meal (and wheel while you're at it)

Thanks Tepui. The trip was a lot of fun.
Roberto likes to make arepas for breakfast when we have time. He's getting really good at it.

Regards

Alvaro

My sister-in-law is from Argentina, does that count?

Hows the skiing there (boarding...) High on my list of places to visit when I get rich...

Judging by the supermodels working Tahoe the last couple of seasons, all of S.A. would be a choice destination...

No skiing in Venezuela, surfpig, but you can definitely catch some waves and do some cruiser-watching. I live in Chile now, and the season just started last week. It's been snowing for days up in the mountains, there's gonna be loads of untouched powder this weekend.

Nice memories. The entire Sucre coast is amazing. I spent lots of time there in the late 80s and early 90s. I'm glad Chaguaramas still looks the same. Somebody told me that Puy Puy beach has been ruined and invaded. Have you been to Puy Puy lately?

Tepui i have no been to puy puy lately but i can tell you one thing, chaguaramas is the nicest beach i've ever been, it's safe and clean, the man that you have to pay something when you arrive to the beach every morning go around the campaments picking up the garbage, good for surfing too but the waves aren't high. I went to medina in easter this year it was good but too packed

C'mon man, your English is great! I grew up in Caracas. Trini is a great place, great people, did you learn to make Roti?
