| I play guitar. There was a time when I ate, slept, and breathed guitars. Not so much since the kid came along. Still jam with my band (see link in my sig line).
I play guitars that I've built myself. Here's a couple pics.
Cheers,

| hey robin, you built that guitar? that's pretty damn wicked. i picked up a guitar in 2000, played every spare minute i could, immediately started coming up with my own stuff, learned on a yamaha f-340 bl, eventually moved onto electric, an ibanez gax.

| Guitars are pretty much my life... I publish a magazine for guitar collectors and builders called the Fretboard Journal ( www.fretboardjournal.com). As for what I play... I own and play a Martin acoustic, a Kay Jimmy Reed, a Gibson L-10 archtop from the '30s, a Guild Aristocrat and a few tenor guitars that are too obscure to mention.
LoPrinzi's are really nice. I've eyed a couple of their ukuleles.
Robin, I'd love to see more pics of the stuff you built.... did you apprentice with someone or are you self-taught?

Played alot for 5 or 6 years starting around 1994 or so, now pick up thing a few times a month, unless a get a hair up my butt and then have to play it everyday for a week or so. Most songs are tuned to F or 2F. |

| My son plays a Jackson and an Gibson SG. He plays through a Peavy XXL. Peavy seems like the Honda of amps. Not real sexy but pretty indestructable. He would rather have a XXX or JSX, but the tube amps are spendy. |

"botique" tube amps are very pricey...
I used to play all older blackfaced funders, but switched a ton. I had a Bad Cat Hot Cat for a bit, then a Two Rock Ruby, (trainwreck copy) that was a fun amp!!! But they aren't cheap by anymeans...now I'm ampless until I get playing serious again...more money for vehicle mods!!! |

Jason | Self-taught. My first 3 guitars sucked, but I'm still playing #4. I've built 10 acoustics in total, plus one octave mandolin and an Irish bouzouki.
I also built a Tele Thinline copy with a DiMarzio Hot Tele pickup that I run through a ProCo Rat distortion pedal and a vintage Roland AD-50 fuzz/wah into an early '70s Sunn SolosII 2X12 combo amp. The Tele has an aluminum checkerplate pickguard. That's my rock n roll setup.
I can post up a few more pics for ya, thanks. I'll check out your website too. That's cool.

| I play on the worship team at our church. Self taught, been playing for 33 years (ouch). My main guitar is a Collings D-1a w/baggs i-beam. Second is a Guild maple g-38 camelback. I donated my Taylor 714 cocobollo to our youth pastor. I also play a mandola, custm built by old wave instuments. I used to play electric years ago, but now just acoustic. I am thinking about getting a tele or sg to spice it up a bit !

| Been playing since I was ten, my dad started me on bass and like every kid I wanted to play lead.
Never was an entertainer and would rather play my own stuff. Currently playing a PRS and saved a Fender Mini strat from our house fire in January.
I did lose a Fender Gemini, a Alvarez acoustic and a vintage Washburn A5-v

| I used to play a lot.... but I was much better at acquiring guitars than I ever was with playing them. I have owned a lot of guitars. I have always been a fan of the classics, Strat's and Les Pauls. I also love the sound of tele's. The neatest guitar I ever owned was a Parker Fly Delux... It looked like a spaceship and wasn't a splinter of wood on it, but it could mimic every guitar tone you wanted... I played through an early silver face Fender Twin Reverb, not sure of the year. I also am a big fan of Hughes & Kettner, I had a bluesman pre amp that they made. A friend of mine plays through a H&K Tri-amp half stack that is bad ass. All I have left now are a couple of guitars with sentimental value.... and early 90's Fender Strat Plus Ultra and an old Italian made EKO guitar that my grandfather played (and it sucks!).

| I just picked up a guitar a few months back. I've been trying to self teach...myself... I bought an Ibanez RG220 off craigs list with and amp, and it's been workin out good. I gave it a custom paint job about a month and a half ago, and I'm actually interested in trying to build a bass.
Speaking of which, anyone have any good suggestions for pick ups that I should look at for a p-bass?

| I just started a couple of months ago when my 7 year-old expressed an interest in learning. He and I are taking lessons now.
I play a Takamine G240 and I am looking at purchasing a Gibson Blueshawk when I get a little spare change. |

| I've got a brand new 6 string Martin acoustic that hasn't ever been played. My dad bought it about 2 years ago when he was sick and never got to play it. I will learn to play it one day.

| I really lost interest while dissecting songs to learn how to play them. I'd much rather listen to the music and enjoy it than break it down for playing purposes.
I play by ear so that might have something to do with it. I took a few classical courses in college and sight reading absolutely kicked my ass.

| well i have been playing for 7-10 years(can't remember exactly how long right now). I started out on a gibson alternative x acoustic then bought a Gibson Les Paul studio electic guitar. I play through a Marshall mg250dfx amp.
I play at church(when i go home) and i play all kinds of music while setting at home.
Favorite Style to play: Rock N Roll
Favorite Song to play: Paradise City(GNR)
Favorite Guitarist: The best in the last 20 years and top 5 ever, SLASH
Other favorite songs: Sweet Child O Mine, Sweet Home Alabama, various other GNR songs.
Most overrated guitarist: Jimi Hendrix
Most overrated Guitar Solo: Stairway to heaven.
Im going to build a double neck guitar as soon as i get some money and a place to build it. Already designed it in autoCAD and have prices figured out.
