I'm not a very smart individual here, but hear me out for a bit.

Everyone spouts off about Democrat this and Replublican this. Well, thats what is tearing this country of ours up. I spent 20 years going to far off lands i never heard of before, let alone ever want to go to to begin with, but i looked at the way they live and their government. Not to say who's is better, ours or theirs but i can see both sides. In the Army we could not be individualists, we worked as a team, why can not the entire country work toward that goal. Ya, not everyone liked each other and thier views but we worked together, fought together and got along for the good of our unit.

I thnk this entire country needs to come together as a team, and not a bunch of individuals.

But then again Mud chat would never be the same.

Look I agree with you in principal. The trouble with that kind of thinking is that the two sides are dyametrically WAY apart. For me to agree wit the left would sacrifice ideas, beliefs and principals I'll never sacrifice. And for them to agree with me would do that same. That's why I'll never be a moderate and I dont believe in moderation in politics. You have to sacrifce to much of what you believe in, on either side.

Look i disagree (to the billionth power) with the democrats, but at least they believe in something and they are willing to fight for it. The same goes for my side. Moderates dont deserve that respect. You cant have it both ways in the current political world we find ourselves in in the United States.

P.S., there really is no need to get your panties in a bundle. If you disagree FINE! You dont have to insult people in the process!!!!!!

Let me ask you something first. You can answer your own question for me.

Civilians died during the civil war. Civilians die in all wars!

Was it morally acceptable to kill and maim innocent people in the cause to stop Germany during WW1? (Because civilians died during that war)

Was it morally acceptable to kill and maim innocent people in the cause to stop Hitler during WW2? (Because tens of millions of civilians died during that war)

Was it morally acceptable to kill and maim innocent people in the cause to stop Japan during WW2? (Because a few million civilians died during that war)

Etc etc etc. The answer is yes if you deem the cause just and worthy. If you deem the cause in your (that being your nations) best interest. If you deem the cause just in the protection and security of your nation states best interest.

Hey, another Rush Limbaugh talking point. Man learn to think for yourself. Moderates are those that don't buy the party line hook line and sinker. I know there is a certain comfort in wrapping yourself up in the protective embrace of the Republican party and bobbing your head along with Rush like a 10 dollar hooker but the world doesn't work like that. Why can't someone believe in a right to privacy (Democrat) and a right to arms (Repub)? You can even hold two competing thoughts in your head without it exploding. (Like, we have a right to bear arms but maybe machine guns should be regulated) Sometimes you can even have doubts about a position. (Capital gains tax cuts may be a good idea but it might just increase market volatility) Try it, it won't kill you.
