I had Sea Monkeys. Bought them as an adult (my folks would never get them for me) and kept them in my "cube" back when I had a corporate job. People used to come by and see them all the time, while they were alive.
Wonder why I don't have my corp. job anymore? Hmmmm...
*sidenote, thanks for the Jackalope, Doug.

I saw the post of the bacon bandages. I almost bought some of those when I was at Archie McPhee in Seattle last week. I decided to buy some Cubes instead (speaking of desk toys). I got "Ted" and "Eve".
I also made a new smilie ... the asshat:

Reported to be in the greater DFW area...
I don't think there are enough large outdoor critters these days.

I like the asshat
I was going to ask if Archie got it on with Eve in his cube, but given Eve's job title...I'm guessing not...

LOL, no Ted isn't so lucky. He's a geeky loser. All his girlfriends' names end in ".jpg"
The cards Eve uses for training are a crack-up. "Don" is the inapropriate employee. In all the graphics, he isn't wearing any pants. In the one featured above, he's saying "would you like a massage?"
Today I printed out some paperwork, courier boxes, dot matrix printer paper, and time cards from the cubes site. The paperwork includes coversheets for TPS reports! *cackle*

Our BigBoy burned down just when I moved here three years ago, and the burnt out shell of the building is still sitting there. Weird.
We have a giant cow here, too, several actually, at the local dairy. They have one on top of the dairy building, one on a trailer for parades, and this one in a picnic area next to their ice cream store. There are usually bees or hornets leaving and going into a little hole broken in the fiberglass on the left rear leg and it's all I can do to keep my kids from putting an eye up to the hole to look inside every time we're there.

nooooooo...don't want it all.
there's way too much pressure with #1. Everyone always gunning for you...always in some noob's sights. Naw, I get enough of that at work
with #2, there's always the expectation that you should usurp #1...again, too much pressure...
I've been shooting for #3. The bronze is what I want in the land of TUT -- mediocre and yet still on the medal stand...

I disagree, being on the medal stand is not mediocre. True mediocracy is to perform well enough for people to remember you were there, but not enough to be "placed" on any stand

I saw the original of that, along with hundreds of other "art" pieces Dali did during a one-man exhibition at the Pompidou Center in Paris in 1980--do you know how mind-warping it is to walk around and see nothing but Dali for four hours? I had just come from a gallery full of Impressionist paintings, too, so it was quite a transition--"here are some lovely water lillies . . . now here's some melting clocks, followed by an actual Rolls Royce surfing a giant wave.

The problem with obscurity is that it is not peformance based. One can be obscure as a result of poor performance, but one can truely perform well and still be obscure by choice or circumstance.

If it's oversized critters you want, DFW is the place - esp. FW. I haven't seen that Jackalope you posted, but there is one about 3-5 miles from my house. It's been a while since I've really taken notice of it - so that could be it. If it is, considering Jman's neighborhood Cheshire, I'd say you hit us both with your random postings pretty *ahem* close to home.
On the oversized critters: we've got a ton of the local artist painted longhorn steer all over the place these days. I can think of 3, maybe 4 that are all within a couple of miles of "One of Four Presidential Palaces"*
* "One of Four Presidential Palaces" or "World Head Quarters" is what I like to call my house. Sounds much "BIGGER" than "my house" or "home" -- don't you think?
