Yup.

Proper positioning is hands at 3 and 9 o'clock (unlike those of us who were taught 10 and 2 before airbags became law). Lower is fine, but any higher and you'll be filling out the insurance forms with a pen stuck in your mouth. Distance should be such that you can just touch your wrist to the top of the steering wheel without leaning forward in the seat.

I hope Phoenix turns out to be much smarter than my sis-in-law's pomeranian.

Your pomeranian would be more of a pomegranite in the above scenario. At least you don't have to worry about it jumping out the window like my labs. Can it even reach the window? I have also gone the route of kennels. Three dogs ride in three kennels in the back of the truck. It helps to control the spread of mud inside.(big problem with pomeranians!)

Nice to see the ARB do its job and you weren't injured. I just need to figure out how to bend my PS "wing" back out. It must have been bent from the PO or in shipping, since I can't see any paint damage but there is a ripple in the metal on the top of the bumper and bent towards the center of the LC. Not sure how to go about pulling it out.

BTW.. Don't get your (Gizmo) Phoenix wet or feed him after midnight.. I hear gremlins pop out of those things

You sure that isn't an Ewok? If it looks like an Ewok, smells like an Ewok, and tastes's like an Ewok...

Actually, we almost got a Parti Pom or Shiba Inu as play partner for our Rott (her name is Phoenix as well).. that would have been in interesting mix.

Glad you're okay.. Hopefully the Mrs. will okay the purchase of an ARB now.. and about driving close to the wheel.. too close is bad.. too far is worse IMO.. there should be a 45 degree bend in the elbow.. just look at the posture of Nascar drivers..

awww, our biggest dog actually protects the little puppy....who jumps up and bites her face....they get along surprisingly well since i got my dog long after our other two!

i know safety is important but its funny to compare it like that..... is there an etiquette school for drivers, practice posture and what not...follow examples of the pros? hehe i just got an image of all you cruiser guys sitting with some stuffy, proper teacher learning this...

I know it's been a while since this thread has been at the top, but someone linked it so...a few years ago before Cruiser I liked old muscle cars, and being early teens I wanted to get my hands on driving material. My dad has a book from "Bob Bondurant's school of high performance driving" - talks about everything from entering/exiting corners, to braking etc. I guess the 45 degree bend that racecar drivers use (and those of us on the trail with no power steering ) is to use your biceps to turn the car, instead of your shoulder muscles. Less strain on your arms so you don't fatigue as fast. Obviously that makes sense, never heard about it from a safety point of view though, except that your noggin' will have more forward movement/speed once it hits that airbag (like hitting a wall I suppose) before it deflates a little bit. Am I allowed .02?

Glad you were ok daughterofromer. I have been talking about making a contraption for mine starting with an ARB. Also when my wife gets the pig she wants the first mod will be ARB: Front, Rear and Rockers I hate to hear people get in wrecks but this justifies my purchase of a LC and will easily justify my purchase of ARB's

Glad you are all fine.
From the perspective of the Asshole that has to go and look at all of these cars after everyone wrecks them, armor is good for you.
back in page one on the airbags there was a question as to why they would not have deployed, asnwer is simple, the airbags will only fire during a rapid deceleration (sp) event, IE you have to be moving and stop suddenly for them to even make it past the first logic loop, the second loop for firing involves g force deceleration and is more complicated, general rule is under 10 mph and most generation II air bags will not deploy.

As to the sitting too close to the steering wheel my Wife is 5'2", Though you cant see it all that well any more after one accident she was involved in the air bag burnt the entire left side of her face and bruised her cheek so badly that her eye was swolen shot for 4 days. not a pretty picture. Granted teh air bag kept her form being killed but had she been further back it would have been a lot better for her.

A pomerainian eh. My neighbour has four. As for little dogs, if you ever come across someone with a lhasa apso say to them real quickly. " Oh I see you have a elastic asshole." They will look at you a little weird and agree..... Well I think it is really funny.
Cheers,
Sean

I like my dog WAY more than most people. I think most dog lovers do. Why play social games with the owner when you know you don't have to play games with the dog.
Cheers,

Holy crap that's awesome about the bumper. Damn, not a mark one on the Lexus, save for the scratch on the ARB. Good stroke of luck that she happened to be driving itn when that happend. I remember back in college getting rear-ended by a camry at a pretty good clip (probably seemed way faster than she actually WAS going), totalled her car, and only left paint chips on my stock bumper.

Glad to know everyone's alright. So was the cause of the accident cell-phone related?

One last thing, if I had a daughter the same age as yours, I wouldn't let her wear a skirt that short

Good God I AM getting old. Instead of "she's hot" I'm saying "if I had a daughter that age..."

Glad to hear you are okay. Doesn't look like that ARB even shifted a milimeter. Nice. Sounds like the runner will be improved for CM09 too!
