"you can only see the stars after a setting sun..."

got home, jus relaxin now still in SUCH a great mood...

tonight i got to see one of my all-time favorite bands play live with the man who introduced me to good music....

Steve Miller Band at Red Rocks with my dad!!!!! gorgeous weather, we had a real nice time... couldnt have asked for anything better!!!!

when we first got there i felt all sentimental remembering the AMAZING concerts i saw there all last summer and how i missed those times, and friends but now im just excited for all the fun things that ARE going to happen this summer (especially now that i have my own rig!) and sitting in bliss after an ideal summer night....

anyone else happy about a day so perfect you had to double check you were awake or have anything similar planned for the summer?

"I've been working all week in the noon day sun
The wood's in the kitchen
And the cow's in the barn
I'm all cleaned up and my chores are all done
Take my hand, come along
Let's go out and have some fun"

Dance Dance Dance released May 1976

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if your dad took you. Great memories - glad to hear you are into "old" stuff!

Oh, that day for me is the day I took my then 2 year old to the Queensland railroad museum.

Cheers,

David

Abra-abra-cadabra ...
A classic from a band that made songs you can sing (esp The Joker) with your friends carpooling to HS. Yeh, I grew up hearing their music.

I also had a pretty cool night. I drove through the Napa valley vineyards with the family to meet my wifes friend. We ate outside a burger joint and the air was a perfect temp s the sun started to set. And to top it off I saw a nice FJ40 parked next to a coffee shop. Being away from our town gave me a chance to see the many stars I rarely get to see close to the larger cities.

Steve Miller Band would have been cool also.

I attended to a 16 yr old Russian girl that had a 6" SS crochet needle sticking out of her left buttock. God she was a flexible thing .. but I digress ..

Yup!! She sat are the darn thing. When I got to her she was lying prone on the couch...but get this - while her pelvis was resting squarely on the couch-her lying stomach down, her torso was wound towards me and beyond so that it was 45 degrees from facing the ceiling. And I repeat .. her pelvic plane was horizontal to the floor ...

I heard a cool accent, so once we got her on the stretcher, I bent down and quietly asked her where she was from ..

----------------

When my stepsons were younger I made a point of balancing out the music they listened to a bit. The youngest had no problem sharing my silence in the dark while we listened to blues and jazz .. me sipping a tumbler of port, and Eric sipping his 7-Up. I took the older of the two boys to see BB King for his 13th birthday. I hope one day to see I planted the seeds to at least a cursory appreciation of blues .. and maybe even jazz; especially vocalists. As parents we owe it to our children to gently push them in directions their peers may not have taken them .. if it were not for my parents I would never have played the violin, trumpet .. or sung in a choir which cut records and toured Europe.

TY
