What a piece! I bet you that whole thing is made of fiberglass. It is for people that can't afford the H1 or H2 and can't wait long enough for the H3 to come out to get their "humma."

The LandRunner conversion has been around for a LONG time, I think since the TJ's came out in '97. Way before the inception of the H2. There's one local to me driven by a professor and I think it's kinda neat looking. Definately different. It is fiberglass, but so are a lot of things, what difference does that make?

The Jeep hating is really getting old. Grow up guys, it's just another make of vehicle.

Ary,

Have you ever driven a Wrangler? All I can think to compare it too is a big golf cart. It even steers like a golf cart, I take that back I have driven Ez-Go's that drive and steer better than a Wrangler. This combined with the outstanding reliability of Chrysler's current production line makes it worthy of ridicule.

you are right arya, and a Lada is just another make of vehicle too. Check out this great ad copy...

These Russian vehicles produced in the VAZ factory in Togliatti are now being backed by the big one GM!!! Maybe this will increase its popularity and name, along with consistency.

A CONSTANT 4x4 that can go anywhere a Range Rover or Nissan or Toyota will go, and without front and rear diff lockers!

Yes, I have driven a Wrangler, and I(perhaps ignorantly) feel that they are designed to feel "rugged." A friend of mine has a Wrangler and I've driven it quite a few times and I actually enjoy the way it drives. No, it's not luxurious or overly comfortable, but if you're looking at a Wrangler for those traits, you need to have your head examined.

I've put over 150k miles on Jeeps personally, and I just get tired of the Jeep bashing. Yes, Toyota makes a superior vehicle, they also charge a superior price....

I'm really not trying to argue, and I'm sure they're something that not everyone's gonna love.

My personal opinion, based on seeing one on a regular basis, is that they look somewhere between decent and good in person.

While it's not quite my cup of tea, and not many jeepers cup of tea, it's not any different than the japanese 80 series bodykits we saw a while back.

Oh, and if a newer wrangler rides like a golf cart, then whats a 40 series ride like? With short wheelbases, stiff suspension, and quirky steering, I don't notice mch difference.

Besides a mini brags about it's golf cart handling

Kind of reminds me of an uglified Wrangler Renegade, which is he ugliest stock Wrangler I have seen, with the giant fender flares.
I'm not a hater, though not fond of new jeeps, I had a 82 CJ8 Scrambler, I remember the Landrunner got mentioned on the Scrambler board I frequented at th time, which was similar in tone/purpose to this one, and it got trashed by those Jeep guys.

I suppose under different circumstances, I might agree with you, but not this one. Fibreglass and Off-roading= cracked. And as for the Jeep Hating, well this is a Landcruiser website is it not. Plus, my current project is called Project LandRunner. Because I'm combining a Cruiser and a 4Runner. Last thing I want is to be associated with a street queen 4x4. Bonus points to me for reviving a year old thread!

wait...they mentioned the brushguard

Sorry I have to agree on this...ghey. Also I can vouch that wranglers ride WAY too soft. Worse than my father-in-law's 80 with old shocks! Also the cab is WAY too deep in a Jeep compared to my 40...almost hit my head on the HT then fell to the floor sittind down

I'd rather push a ford than drive a jeep

It's not hate to state negative attributes when said attributes are the truth. The truth is NEVER hate. Write that on your forehead.

depends on the fiberglass and the construction. i have SEEN fiberglass take a beating that steel would never survive in staying straight.
a 50mph roll in a fiberglassed tub, fenders, doors excetera equiped land cruiser BJ42 and the only damage was a split seem in the hard top side and a hole the size of your fist in the front fender from a rock. try that in your metal 40 body...

as for the landrunner, good for them. there are too many generic jeeps running around already...not for me though

it's pretty funny seeing pepole on other web sights ''brag'' about how their jeep lasted 100K miles.

Agree with ya brian. Ary...it's a toyota forum if you like jeeps so much go to pirate maybe?

1992 FJ80 - 170k(ish)
1974 FJ40 - 127K (rebuilt at 100k)

Jeeps are really not great You can't even use lockers AND anything about 33"s in most models without risking your axle-shafts...ON PAVEMENT!
FJ40's we're able to take stock axles and run 38.5's on my friends shop, locked F/R, pavement or off-road. Cruisers are just better and we only talk truths here. I know the jeep tiresize info only because of a FRIEND with a JEEP .

Gidday, Glenn here.

I am trying to find a Drivers' side rear wheel arch flare for my wagon. Does anyone have one just sitting around waiting to be bought by me?
