1st post on this board but it looks like a gem find. Info overdose every day! At the mo I havent got a cruiser (have a HiluxSurf) but the search is on. Am in Ireland.
Did a 250mile round trip to see these two. They've had doors and stuff swopped as the owner reckoned the red one was the better of the two however it was the blue one I drove. The red would start too if it had batteries in. The red has a B engine.
The blue one has rotten tub (presume the red too but it looks lot better) and you can see the wheels from inside. The red has plenty of rust, back door edges are very bad but inside its surprisingly ok. Id still expect to have to rip out half the floor even so.
BLUE ONE
RED ONE
€500 (about $400) for the two was the asking price, he says he even has a third yellow one which is not worth seeing but could be useful.
sounds like a good deal if you can get them trucked home...
actually we had a guy here in Calgary that bought 2 FJ45s off the island. the brave soul flew out, hooked a tow bar between the 2 45s and drove/towed them all the way back to Calgary. i used to have a pic of him at the toll both at the top of the cocohalla (sp?).
personally i would have had a hard time convincing myself to drive one across the city. he made it with no problem at all.
i guess you could try that if you wanted to be brave.
welcome to the world of cruisers.
cheers

What model years are they? 5 speed trannies and power steering? Did you check the frames for rust? The more I look at my Vanc BC BJ42, the more rust I find. If you've got at least one good frame, then it looks like you might be able to piece together a decent rig from the two, though consider fiberglass to replace all the steel if you don't want to deal with rust in the future.
(BTW 500 euros = ~$650 US right now)

That's probably a good price for a heap of usable parts, etc. You can always find a decent rolling project somewhere in much better condition that simply begs for a decent drivetrain. Cobble together a decent cruiser and you're all set!
